Child Care Partnerships

poster high fiveKearney Public Schools has partnerships with independent child care providers in our community.  The partnerships enable more center- and home-based child care providers to benefit from Sixpence funding and resources.   The partnership connects these providers to program improvement supports through Step Up to Quality, and increases the availability of developmentally positive, year-round child care opportunities for Kearney's families.

Step Up to Quality helps early child care providers and educators recognize and improve quality. Programs enrolled in Step Up to Quality have access to coaching and resources that help them on their path to higher quality. These resources enable any provider or educator –– big or small –– to take quality to the next level.

Step Up to Quality programs go beyond what is required because they strive to do better for their children’s and families’ futures.

Erin Small and Libbi Harsh serve the child care centers. They work with the directors and teachers at the centers and home daycares to improve quality of care.
