About Me:

Hello, Everyone & Welcome to the World of Early Childhood!.

Kearney Public Schools has been my teaching home since 2012 in my position as Early Childhood Special Education provider for children from birth through 5. I provide support to students and their caregivers in home settings, community daycares and preschools. I graduated from UNK in 2010 with endorsements in Early Childhood Unified and K-6 Mild-Moderate Special Education. My teaching career began as a Sixpence Home Visitor and Early Childhood Interventionist for two years with the Sandhills Cooperative and Broken Bow Public Schools before coming to KPS.

I have always had a passion for working with young children and observing them as their curious minds grow and develop. Everything in their world is brand new and exciting, just waiting to be discovered! As an early childhood provider, I recognize that the first five years of a child’s life are critical for lifelong brain development.

A child’s greatest teacher is their parent/caregiver, so naturally one of my favorite parts of my work is being able to collaborate with them, focusing on each individual’s development and brainstorming ideas and strategies that can be implemented into daily routines to support the specialized needs of young learners and their families. To me one of life’s greatest joys is being able to witness children mastering a new skill.

Outside my school life, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three young children and two dogs. Our kids keep us very busy with a variety of their activities. As a family we enjoy playing games, making crafts, being outdoors, attending concerts and sporting events, gardening, having movie nights, traveling and cooking together.

Thank you for sharing your children and families with me!
